Eight (8) inch Scarlett with emerald green eyes and red bows, is wearing her corset, bloomers, undergarments, pink stockings and pink satin shoes, encased with a fabric ribbon bow which appears to have never been untied. Trousseau includes white honeymoon gown with hoop slip, light pale pink satin night gown, red and gold robe. This bag has never been opened, hence I am peeking through it to share the details the best I can!

The trunk measures approximately 6" wide by 10" tall by 6" in depth. (measurements with trunk closed).
It is made of metal on the outside and the interior heavy cardboard material.
There is one pull out drawer on the bottom interior of this beautiful, original Madam Alexander trunk.

All of these treasures remain in the original logo blue metal trunk with handle and hinge lock. Also, is the Madame Alexander Official Collector Registration card, never completed. (No. 193430 OM) This is nothing less than a fabulous, complete trunk set for the Madam Alexander / Scarlett Collector.

"According to Madame Alexander herself, her love of Margaret Mitchell's 1930s classic, "Gone with the Wind," inspired her to create a doll of Scarlett O'Hara, the book's main character. "It is the only book I have started from the beginning and did not put down until finished. I remember starting it Saturday morning after breakfast and never left my room until Sunday. I stayed up all night and it is remarkable that I did not feel any need for sleep. On Monday I went into my studio and started to work and I am happy to report that everything went smoothly and I made no corrections. She (Scarlett) has been very rewarding and has made many people happy." (p. 216, Madame Alexander Dolls 1965-1990 by Patricia Smith1991.) Indeed, the Scarlett doll still sells very well several decades later."

"After reading “Gone with the Wind”, Madame requested and received permission to make a Scarlett O’Hara doll. While there is some question as to exactly when the first dolls were made, there were official Scarlett O’Hara dolls by Madame Alexander advertised in the Atlanta newspapers on the day of the film’s premier in 1939."
